One table, two chairs. A meal served out of habit. Man and woman, two empty chairs. He is looking blindly into his plate, admiring the impressive size of the chop. The conversation does not stick today? Not about the pork chop, nor the weather. She is only looking for someone to chat with. Thanks god, they broadcasted a new episode of the soap opera on TV. By the way, how was work? She asked. Allegro molto, but thanks for asking. A big pork chop on a plate, a cucumber salad on the floor.
Dinner for two is a play in three acts that raises the problem of routine, stagnation and mismatch of personalities in a relationship. She, a vivid-hearted extrovert tries to reunite with her introverted partner. As they say - through the stomach to win the heart. Small talk is now being served. Will these two be able to reunite with each other?
In Dinner for two each act took its influences from 20th-century theatre conventions including realistic, expressionistic and post-dramatic theatre and has been written in respect to their main features. Three acts of the play present one story told in three different ways, each act complements the others.
Dinner for Two has been awarded first prize for The New Play at the II National Competition for Short-length Dramatic Work co-organized by The Pulse of Literature Festival in Poland. The play has been completed as a part of my dissertation at the University of Lodz.

Jeden stół i dwa krzesła. Posiłek serwowany z przyzwyczajenia. Kobieta i mężczyzna - dwa puste miejsca. On patrzy niemo w talerz, podziwia imponujących rozmiarów kotlet, ona szuka towarzysza do rozmowy. Chyba rozmowa się dzisiaj nie klei? Ani o kotlecie, ani o pogodzie. W telewizji puścili nowy odcinek telenoweli. Jak było w pracy? Allegro molto, ale dzięki że pytasz. Kotlet na talerzu, mizeria ze śmietaną na podłodze.
Kolacja (we dwoje) – małe i mniejsze rozmowy przy jedzeniu to dramat w trzech aktach poruszający problem rutyny, stagnacji i niedopasowania charakterów w związku. Główni bohaterowie – ona, frywolna ekstrawertka próbuje nawiązać nić porozumienia ze swoim mężem, zamkniętym w sobie introwertykiem. I jak mówią - przez żołądek do serca, wraz z kotletem schabowym i mizerią ze śmietaną codziennie serwowana jest niezobowiązująca rozmowa. Każdy z trzech aktów czerpie inspiracje z jednej z trzech konwencji teatru XX wieku – teatru realistycznego, ekspresjonistycznego i postdramatycznego. Wszystkie trzy akty łączy jedna fabuła.
Dramat został nagrodzony pierwszym miejscem na II Ogólnopolskim Konkursie na Małą Formę Dramatyczną (2015) zorganizowanym przez Dom Literatury przy Festiwalu Puls Literatury w Łodzi. Dramat został przygotowany w ramach pracy dyplomowej na specjalności Twórcze Pisanie na Uniwersytecie Łódzkim.
